Thank you to everyone who participated in the Well@Home Community! We've wrapped it up, but you're welcome to join us and continue your journey towards better health:

Cheryl, Sweet Spot Nutrition, eating well for heart health

Kristyn, Energize Nutrition, energize your nutrition in your 40's and beyond

Tired of feeling powerless in this pandemic?

Us too.

Cheryl Strachan

Kristyn Hall

In case you don't already know us, we're Registered Dietitians in Calgary, Canada. Kristyn is a culinary nutrition expert and certified health coach. Cheryl is a cardiac nutrition specialist and author of the 30-Minute Heart Healthy Cookbook. We both love to cook and eat great food.

Like many of you, we’ve spent the past couple of months adjusting to life at home with little structure, grieving cancelled events and missing the people we can’t see. We’ve been saddened by what's happened already and worried about what's to come.
But we’re tired of feeling powerless. We’re ready to take control, at least of what we can control. We want to stay healthy and make the most of this time. If you're there too, we invite you to join us.

We’re hearing from people who are struggling to ease up on stress eating, snacking, and home baking. People are looking to their pantries for more nourishing, energizing foods. Are you feeling that way too?

If so, here’s what we're doing...

The Well@Home Community

If you want to improve your cooking skills and nutrition know-how while you're at home, let’s do it!

We’ll post a video about a different topic each week and host a private Q&A session. You can join us live or watch the replay. Topics so far include:

  • Surviving, thriving, and moving forward - Goal-setting for better health during difficult times. What self-care looks like today.
  • Why We Eat -  Explore the underlying drivers of your eating habits and learn about a strategy for curbing eating habits you want to change.
  • Transforming Tuna - Cooking demo that will change how you think of this pantry staple - crunchy and sweet add-ins can turn canned tuna your new favourite quick meal or a protein-rich snack.
  • Farro Demystified - Cooking demo and discussion of all things whole grain. Learn to make a satisfying, quick, heart healthy pantry meal: Tomato and Zucchini with Salmon and Farro.

Join us today to access to recordings of these sessions. (It's free!)

Health coaching and habit changing
Knowledge is important, but often not enough to get us closer to the vision we have for our health. We’d like to support you with some simple health coaching and behaviour change tools.

For example, one of the most effective ways to support health behaviour change is goal-setting. So each week, we'll send you an email and invite you to answer a few key questions.

Send us your answers if you like, or share them in the Facebook group for accountability and support. Invite a friend to be your accountability partner and share with them. Or keep them to yourself. Whatever works best for you.

If you do share them with us, we’ll be happy to review and respond by email. We’re here to support you in the way you feel you need, knowing that might change from week to week. No pressure. We just want to help you feel less alone.

Community Support
We have a private Facebook group for this, where you’ll be welcome to post questions, share your thoughts, or talk about what’s happening in general. We can help each other stay well and strong, and comfort each other when that seems out of reach.

We'll set up some group guidelines and monitor to ensure that it is a safe space, free of spam, dodgy health advice, or personal attacks. We’ll welcome people who are ready to support each other with kindness, compassion and respect.

How To Join
For now we won't be charging for being a part of the Well@Home Community. Honestly, helping you helps us. It's what we do.

If you're ready to shift focus and join us, let's help each other stay healthy through this. The more the merrier.

We didn’t have a choice in ending up in this pandemic,

but we can choose how we respond.
